Virtual scavenger hunts in the office are a great addition to the team bonding activities that you do with your team. They are quick to set up, easy to run and people enjoy participating in scavenger hunts. The main goal of a virtual scavenger hunt is to have everybody find items on the list of challenges and present them to the team.
All you need to set up a scavenger hunt for your distributed team is a list of challenges. You can set up the scavenger hunt as a 30 minutes meeting, where everybody participates at the same time. That’s a really fun way to do it, because people will be playing in real time with each other. However, it’s also possible to present the challenges in the morning, and have people work on them throughout the day. At the end of the day, all gather in a meeting and present the results.

Tips for coming up with your own list of challenges:
- For the virtual challenges it’s great to have items on the list that can be open for interpretation. This adds a creative element to the event and makes the scavenger hunt more interesting for adults.
- Create a mix of easy and hard to find items. People like to be challenged, but making some items easy will make the scavenger hunt more dynamic, appealing and fun.
- Try to make items fit the theme of the scavenger hunt.
